review : Vassen Jewel Brown Lens

December 8, 2013 No comments

Hello, everyone! Review time again! Today I'll be reviewing the second of three pairs that were sent to me by LoveShoppingholics. Ever since I started wearing grey lenses, I've completely ignored all of my brown ones because they all looked so plain to me. I wanted to have at least one brown pair though, for certain occasions like when I need my photos taken for IDs or something. After going through over a hundred different designs for brown lenses, I finally settled on this one, Vassen Jewel Brown.

Lenses in the case.

When worn, close up.

The color is a nice, warm brown. The kind of brown that I like! It may be too yellow-y for some people though, I've read some reviews saying they look like Twilight vampire eyes, lol. (That's good if you're into Twilight, I guess.) I'm okay with them, as they don't appear too bright against my dark brown eyes anyway. The design is quite unique, too. Instead of an opaque black outer ring, there's a bit of a texture (?) in the design, that way it blends into the eyes better. I quite like it.

Just enough at 14.5mm. I do like this diameter a lot, but for some reason these appear to be a bit smaller than my other 14.5mm ones..

COMFORT: ★★★★☆
Though I can wear these without any problems, they tend to become dry faster than my other lenses.

OVERALL: ★★★★☆
Four out of five stars. Overall a really nice, natural yet not-so-natural (what) lens. I recommend these for a more mature look, I tried it with a more mature eyemake once (no photo, so sorry) and it looked really nice! These would also look really good for ageha gyaru looks.

A few reminders:
☆ It is your responsibility to minimize the risk of wearing lenses, and you are best advised to consult your eye doctor beforehand. Kindly please read the wear & care guide carefully to ensure proper handling of lenses. The rule of thumb for lenses: if you experience any discomfort, remove the lens immediately.
☆ Though the lenses were sponsored by LoveShoppingholics, everything written here is 100% my opinion.
☆ All photos used in this review belong to me. Please do not take them without my permission!!

Aaand that's that! I still have three lenses + a ton of makeup things lined up for review but I'm a bit pressed for time so I'll leave those for next year! But I'm pretty sure after our trip to Malaysia I'll come back with even more makeup and artbooks and a ton of other stuff to review.. ehehehe. We'll see, we'll see! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
