it's the new year

It's January 13, so this is ~2 weeks late, but still, Happy New Year! To the handful of people still reading my blog in 2025, HNY from our little family to yours ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

I stopped making new years resolutions a long time ago, but I thought I'd write a list of some things I wanted to do this year. I don't want call them resolutions or goals though. There's no time limit or anything. They're simply things I want to do for my personal happiness.

In 2025, I'd like to...

Take more pictures. Living in the moment is good, but my memory is sooo bad now that I have to take pictures. With my phone, with my iPad, with my dSLR, with whatever gadget with a camera that I have my hands on. Pictures of both the big and small moments. Pictures of even the most mundane things. What we ate for lunch that day, what Miu playing with that afternoon, what the sky looked like when we went outside. Every moment is a story, a memory to keep, and so when the memory fades, I can always look back at the pictures and cherish the moments all over again.

Work on my never-ending journal backlog. Can you believe I only managed to finish the 2019 journals last year? That's how behind I am! I don't have my own printer, so I have my photos printed, but it's more cost-effective to have them done in big batches, so it takes a while. Plus it's hard to get anything done when you have a toddler constantly wanting to help out, haha. Let's see if I can finally finish everything this year!

Spend more time with friends. I recently hung out with my closest friends, some of whom I haven't seen in more than a year. Although the reason behind the meetup wasn't exactly a good thing, getting to see and talk to people I love and share the same values with made me very happy. I missed everyone so much, hopefully in 2025 I have more energy to go out and meet them more often!
Lastly, visit more places and create more core memories for Miu. One of the biggest worries Aian and I had was that we weren't ready to be parents. We've been together for more than a decade, but having kids was never in the future we'd envisioned. It was always just us and the cats. What gives us strength is the hope that someday, Aian and I could be doing what the two of us had been doing all this time, but this time as three. That in spite of the challenges that may come, we can be happy. Fast forward to 2 years later, we now have a super kulit 16-month-old. Now that she's curious about everything, I'd like to experience more things with Miu. Bring her to our favorite restaurants, visit museums and exhibits, and in the future, travel to different countries. Excited to go on lots of little adventures with our little one ♡

I guess that's it for now. Tbh there's actually a lot more things I want to do, but these four are the ones that spark the most joy right now hehe. How about you? Any goals or plans for the new year? And while we're here, is there anything you'd like to see on the blog in the future? If there is then let me know!
