It's a little late to be sharing this news, but for those not in the know, NewJeans became the new brand ambassadors for OLENS beginning early 2023. NewJeans' fun, fresh, trendy, and youthful vibe matches so well with OLENS, so becoming the new face of the brand just makes so much sense! Recently, OLENS released a lookbook featuring NewJeans' contact lens picks for F/W 2024, and I'll be doing quick reviews of each one today 🐇
Compared to their S/S picks, OLENS chose calmer colors such as black and brown for F/W. Very demure, very cutesy.
[HANNI'S PICK ♡] Glowy 1Day Black — OLENS Global, Shopee
I had the chance to review these lenses back when they first came out in 2021, when they used to be called Eyelighter Glowy Lenses (which I thought was pretty cute...). Three years later and they still continue to be one of OLENS bestselling designs! The lenses have a graphic diameter of 13.1mm and a black limbal ring, so it has a slight enlarging effect. They also feature a highlight design which I love, especially because it looks a lot like how eyes are usually drawn in 80's~90's shoujo anime! Super cute. It fits Hanni's lively & playful personality well, but at the same time the soft black color of the lens gives her a calmer vibe—perfect for fall-winter looks.
[HAERIN'S PICK!] Big Glowy 1Day Mocha Brown — OLENS Global, Shopee
With a graphic diameter of 13.6mm and a bold limbal ring, these lenses an upgraded version of the Glowy. These are kitty Haerin's pick, which are perfect for her because she gives off major dolly vibes! Back in 2010, people who were into cosplay or J-fashion would wear these huge 14mm+ lenses for daily wear, myself included...lol. The Big Glowy Lenses are waaay more natural-looking. No dead fish / alien eyes here!
[MINJI'S PICK!] Glowy Natural 1Day Mocha Brown — OLENS Global, Shopee
Now onto my bias Minji's pick, which is actually my pick from this lookbook as well! The Glowy Natural has a graphic diameter of 13mm, and features a soft highlight design. Compared to the regular Glowy, the highlight has a more natural glow. I've said this quite a few times since NewJeans debuted, but Minji reminds me so much of a young Aoi Yu! Her features look best with minimal/natural makeup, which is why these lenses were the perfect choice. If you find the regular Glowy lenses to still be too much for you, definitely give the Glowy Natural a try!
[DANIELLE'S PICK!] French Shine 1Day Hazel — OLENS Global, Shopee
One of my favorite lens designs from OLENS, French Shine Lenses feature a graphic diameter of 13.2mm, gold tinted shade, and a mild gradation pattern. This color is a bright hazel brown shade, so it's quite striking. Compared to the other designs here, the French Shine Hazel Lenses look more...exotic? Like something you'd wear for special events only. (The Lavender is more my style!) They look amazing on Danielle though. They make her eyes even more radiant and give her that dreamy elfish aesthetic/vibe.
[HYEIN'S PICK!] Moodnight 1Day Mood Gray — OLENS Global, Shopee
With a graphic diameter of 13.3mm and a soft limbal ring, these lenses give a natural enlarging effect. Mood Gray is a calm ash gray color that leans more blue. I prefer true gray or warm gray lenses, so I don't usually reach for these. (Though I personally prefer the Mood Brown color myself hehe.)
