I recently received these Benton products c/o Picky earlier this month and have been using them well, so I thought it was about time for some more quick reviews!
Snail Bee High Content Skin Toner
A lightweight toner containing snail secretion filtrate, bee venom, and camellia sinensis leaf water for soothing and revitalizing the skin. It's very watery, so I have a bit of a hard time using it because I've become too spoiled by essence-type toners. Benton recommends using it as a mist, which I think is a good idea if you don't like the idea of product spilling everywhere. Using it with cotton pads is an option, too. I find that it's a bit lacking when it comes to hydration, but it's great for soothing and calming. I've been using it with cotton pads following the Chizu Saeki Method and it works so well, especially for soothing irritated skin in this heat!Snail Bee High Content Essence
I think a lot of you are already familiar with this one. This used to be one of my holy grails from when I started with Korean skincare–it's lightweight, soothing, and great at helping heal scars. I've mentioned this often in my skincare posts, but I suffer from compulsive skin picking, and this helps a lot with dealing with the aftermath. I've gone through more than 5 bottles of this in my lifetime. Which is why I was SO excited to have it back in my routine...only to find out that Benton decided to "give it an upgrade" earlier this year. Reformulations are usually a hit or miss when it comes to products that are already so well-loved, but I figured the new formulation wouldn't be much different, or maybe turn out to be better. (Peptides! They added peptides!) Sadly, it's just not the same. I recently used it to try and soothe some post-acne scarring, and I didn't see the same effect it used to have. In fact, I found that it actually stung some of the newer scars a little bit. So, so disappointed. Overall it might still be good for hydration and soothing (maybe not so much for fresh scars?), but sadly no longer holy grail status for me.
Air Fit UV Defense Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++
A chemical sunscreen which contains cica as a featured ingredient. It is lightweight, non-sticky, and dries down to a natural finish with no white cast. It's moisturizing enough that you can even skip the moisturizer and go straight to this instead. I love that there is a cooling and soothing effect as well. It has a soft green color, but it isn't visible once it's blended out. I do think the green cancels out some of my skin's redness, but it might or might not be placebo 😅 I like it a lot! Overall one of my highly recommended summer sunscreens this year, especially for this particularly hot and humid one!
