Hello hello friends! :) In my previous post I mentioned that I'd be reviewing two lens collections from OLENS Global. Today I'll be reviewing the second one! Compared to the French Gold 3Con and the Scandi, this particular lens collection has been around for quite a while. If you're into K-pop, you might have seen some of your favorite idols wear these lenses before. They are the Secriss 3Con* Contact Lenses 💖
I actually first learned about OLENS because of the Secriss lenses. Back then, EXID's Hani was their model and she used to wear these lenses all the time. That was around 2016, I think? So long ago! It's amazing to know that even after 5 years, the Secriss lenses are still quite widely-used, especially among idols.
Secriss 3Con lenses come in two types—Vol 1, which is the Secriss 3Con Coral, and Vol 2, the Secriss 3Con Natural. Both types are 3Con, which means they are three-color contacts. They both come in Gray and Brown, but the Natural also has a Green colorway. For this review I'm only reviewing the Gray and Brown.
So what's the main difference between the Secriss Coral and the Secriss Natural? First of all, the Coral has a graphic diameter of 13.5mm, and the Natural has a graphic diameter of 13.1mm. While .4mm might seem like a small number, it actually makes a big difference. If you have smaller eyes, a bigger graphic diameter might make your eyes look unnaturally large. Second, the color of the Coral lenses are a bit more saturated than the Natural. There's also a more pronounced coral ring in the middle of the former.
SECRISS 3CON CORAL GRAY (10P / 20P)
Right off the bat you can tell that the gray color for these lenses leans more blue. Again, I'm usually hesitant to wear blue-gray lenses, but because of the coral inner ring the blue-gray blended nicely with my natural eye color. I like that the outer ring isn't such a dark color too, so everything goes together really well. I also love the graphic pattern for these lenses! Being one of OLENS' first designs you'd think they wouldn't look as natural as the newer designs but that's not the case at all. My second favorite from this today's review!
SECRISS 3CON CORAL BROWN (10P / 20P)
Not gonna lie, the color for these lenses kind of freaked me out when I first opened the pack. It is such a vivid gold-brown color that I was scared they wouldn't look good on me. Even though I'm warm-toned, I'm somewhere in the soft/muted part of the spectrum so if something is too warm, it's going to look weird. This is why hazel lenses are usually a hit or miss on me. Looking at the full-face photos though, the brown doesn't look as Twilight-vampirey as it does in the close-up shot. Still very wearable. Personally, I would reserve these lenses for more glamorous looks.
SECRISS 3CON NATURAL GRAY (10P / 20P)
Although these still aren't a true gray color, compared to the Coral Gray, these are a lot less blue-leaning. There's also a goldish inner ring, but it's dispersed unlike in the Coral. The outer ring is also much lighter in color. When worn though, this looks a lot darker against my eyes. The gray looks almost black, which in turn makes it look like those black dolly lenses that were popular at the time. While it might look weird for some, I think for people who actually prefer the dolly look, this would be great. For cosplay and Lolita, too.
SECRISS 3CON NATURAL BROWN (10P / 20P)
Again from the color of the lenses in the case alone, I was a bit scared because the brown looked very orange-toned overall. But when worn, the color became a lot more subdued after blending in with my natural eye color. Because I have dark brown eyes, you can barely see the color of the inner ring anymore. The dark brown outer ring too, for some reason it looks a bit...dark green? I don't know why. I like the subtle effect a lot though! If I were to pick a favorite from the four Secriss lenses I tried, it would be this one.
Any Dreamcatcher fans here? I recently found out that the Secriss 3Con Natural Brown are actually Sua's favorite lenses! Because I'm an Insomnia and Sua's my bias, that made me want to try these even more ♥
As with all of OLENS' 1Day lenses, Secriss 3Con lenses are made from Puscon (Phosphorylcholine), a highly biocompatible and hydrophilic material. It has higher water content than most lenses (48%), so even if my eyes get dry easily I'm able to wear these for a long period of time without any problems. Usually with lenses that have a more visible graphic pattern the lens itself feels a bit heavier (?) on my eyes, but I didn't have that problem with these. Super comfortable like all the other OLENS lenses I've tried.
Secriss 3Con lenses come in a box of 10s ($21) or 20s ($34). So that's 5~10 pairs of lenses per box.
Overall, I think the Secriss 3Con lenses are really beautiful even for a relatively older design. There's a reason why these are a favorite among idols, after all. Personally though, I feel like these would work a lot better for more glamorous makeup looks. Also, rather than use these for daily wear, I'd probably save them for more special occasions. If you're going to an event and you know you're going to be photographed, these would be perfect. Or if you just want to look extra glam at home, these would be great for that too!
