Kuala Lumpur, 2016 : part iii

Finally, we're at the last part of my KL 2016 travel diary! And in ~*~Classic Chai Fashion~*~, of course I'm posting this after we'd already gotten back from this year's KL trip. Of course. But hey, better late than never, right? Right! _(:3」∠)_

Day 4 : date with Hanie
I mentioned in my previous post that we met up with our friend Hanie at Comic Fiesta. The problem with CF is that it's always quite hectic—we're all running around doing all the things we want to do, so we don't get to talk much when we see each other. Because of that, I thought it would be a good idea to reserve a separate day for us to hang out.

Before getting on our Uber ride, we spotted this stray siamese kitty walking nearby. Looks pretty beat up, but at least s/he seems to be well-fed. There's probably someone who feeds the kitties in the area.

We decided to meet up with Hanie for lunch at this place called VCR Coffee & Cakes. It's a cafe in Bukit Bintang, which is a stylish and trendy neighborhood in KL. There are A LOT of cafes in this area, so I had a hard time choosing. According to Zomato, VCR was (and still is, I just checked) the most popular and highest rated cafe in the area. I was not disappointed.

The place itself is very IG-friendly, but it was quite packed when we went there so I only managed a few snaps. It's a great place if you want to sit down and hang out with friends. Also if you sit by the huge windows you get A+ selfies ;) ;) ;)

Their breakfast platter was so good~ I shared it with Aian, but I regret not getting my own LOL.

My favorite thing about VCR is the friendly kitty sleeping outside the cafe front! I found out later that VCR is actually home to quite a few cats, which makes my heart very happy ♥

After lunch, Aian went to Berjaya Times Square to check the arcades, while Hanie and I spent a bit more time at VCR to catch up. Hanie had just come from Tokyo the month before, and of course I was thirsty for Japan stories hahaha. After that, Hanie offered to take me to Pavilion KL, since I'd never been there before.

Pavilion has an area called Tokyo Street, which has a lot of Japanese shops and Japan-inspired decor. My favorite part was this area with the huge manekineko. The lantern in the background looks a lot like the one in Asakusa! I wanted to get a photo with Hanie here, sooo we decided to go and fetch Aian to take our photo LOL.

Got distracted by this Sephora near Pavilion on the way to Berjaya Times Square. I didn't buy anything because they didn't have anything by 3CE or Moonshot there, BLESS.

On the way back from fetching Aian, we spotted Isetan The Japan Store from inside our Uber, so we asked to be dropped off here instead. I had an idea of what would be inside, but I wasn't expecting to see Lolita dresses there! They were sooo pretty. I fell in love with this one Innocent World JSK. I wanted to try them on but I got shy shy shy. There were also a lot of anime-related merchandise, such as the Q-Pot x Sailor Moon collab items, Love Live! and Haikyuu! merch, etc.

Each floor is dedicated to a different thing Japanese food on the lower ground floor, fashion goods on the next, and so on. This floor is more for traditional Japanese items and books. I really liked the design. Feels a lot like Kengo Kuma's work.

After getting distracted in Isetan, we finally reached Pavilion again and got to take our outfit photos. Yay!

For dinner we had duck rice! It was good, but I still prefer chicken rice.

After that, Aian and I said goodbye to Hanie, and went back to our Airbnb to call it a day. Fun fun! We only ever get to meet with Hanie once every year, but we always have a fun time. Always looking forward to the next meeting ♥

Day 5 : Central Market + last minute packing
As always, the last day of our trip was reserved for buying souvenirs. We always do it at Pasar Seni (Central Market).

Central Market! The thing I like about Central Market is that they offer a lot of traditional goods such as batik, embroidered bags, etc. My family loves the chocolate from Beryl's, and Choc Boutique at Central Market has the lowest prices compared to all the other chocolate shops I've checked (KLIA2, KLCC, Pavilion), so we always buy them here. Because we've been here so many times, we already have a clear idea of what we need to buy. So this time, we literally just bought what we needed, went to check Aian's fish friends (at the fish massage place lol) and then left.

We passed by this area while on the way back. I took photos from inside the Uber ride because I found the architecture beautiful. The name of the place is Panggung Bandaraya DBKL (DBKL City Theatre).

Once we got back to our Airbnb, the first order of business was to pack our luggage LOL _(:3」∠)_ We bought so many books over the course of our stay in KL that we had so much to pack. We also had to worry about cleaning our room....cry.

After 2~3 hours of packing and cleaning! After this, we headed to the airport for our midnight flight back to Manila.
