Hellooo from your resident lazy blogger! Aian and I are leaving for KL the day after tomorrow, and yet I'm still in the middle of writing my KL 2016 posts.... I never learn, sigh _(:3」∠)_ Anyway! Today's post is all about Comic Fiesta, Malaysia's biggest anime, cosplay, and gaming event!
Day 2 : Comic Fiesta 2016, Day 1 As I mentioned previously, Comic Fiesta is the main reason why Aian and I have been flying to KL every year. I always look forward to CF because compared to our local cons, CF has a lot more artist booths. Imagine maybe half of the venue packed with artist booths! And the artists are always improving the quality of their merch, so it's always exciting to see what kind of new and shiny things we'll find~~
As we were leaving for Comic Fiesta, we spotted these two near our Airbnb.
(Aian wanted to take a photo with them but they flew away when he tried to get closer lol)
After getting lost on the way, we finally reached the venue....only to see this. SUPER LONG LINE WTF
When we got inside the event venue itself, IT WAS SO PACKED AND SO HOT that I felt like I was suffocating. After scouring the basic and premium art booths, Aian and I went back out after only 3 hours or so. The shortest time we've ever spent at a con EVER lol
Spotted these awesome cosplayers outside, so I managed to take some cosplayer photos at least!
Cutie Hanie ♥ ♥ ♥
Best part of this day for me was getting to have both chicken rice AND three layer tea. My favorites!!
Krul on a car~~
In the evening, Aian and I went to Jalan Alor for dinner. Despite it being our 4th time in KL, it was our first time visiting Jalan Alor. I'd already searched for info on the place, but when we got there I was still pretty shocked to see so many restaurants. Since it was our first time, we thought it would be a good idea to go for the things that were familiar to us. We had multi-flavored dumplings first (no photo because I ate everything before I could remember to take one), and then after we had fried lok-lok. Everything was so good~~
After dinner, Aian and I headed back to our Airbnb to rest up and get ready for Comic Fiesta Day 2!
Day 3 : Comic Fiesta 2016, Day 2 We woke up a bit later for Day 2, because we stayed up watching Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children the night before, lol. For Day 2, my gameplan was to line up for all the cosplayers' merch that I wasn't able to buy the previous day. Aian was able to buy most of the merch he wanted on Day 1, so all that was left to go back to the ones he wasn't able to visit. This time, so as not to get lost again, we took an Uber to the event venue. It took us less than 15 minutes and a little over RM7 to get there. We should've taken an Uber the first time haha _(:3」∠)_
I spotted this super cute Shinku cosplayer as we were going inside. Look at that beautiful velvet dress, makes her seem very doll-like * u *
Momo from Onmyoji! I am weak against oni characters _(:3」∠)_
First order of business was to get King's photobook and signature! (Also hugs, yes heheheh.) I guess I was lucky because there weren't a lot of people left in line that day? I managed to meet King just a few minutes after queueing.A bit sad the cos was Zen and not Jumin though
Also managed to meet YingTze after lining up for....almost 2 hours LOL. It was worth it, because YingTze's Tamamo is super cute! The only reason I was so bitter while I was in line was because during that time, Aian went to meet Ely in my place wtf.
Quick lunch break! We have this every Comic Fiesta. It's a meat pie with mashed potatoes and gravy on top!
Random snaps while roaming the con floor~
This year was the year Aian joined the Comic Fiesta 100 Days Countdown! We were pretty excited when we found out that he was chosen as one of the people to receive the goodie bag, but we weren't expecting to see his drawing blown up this big on the wall * O *
More cosplayers~~
Aian and I went to meet up with Hanie to do a mini-shoot of her costume, and on the way we met Jin and Miguel!
We had the shoot with Hanie outside of the venue since it was quite dark inside. The light outside was so nice! I didn't even need a reflector or anything. We managed to take a lot of good photos. If you want to see the rest, then just keep reading until the end ♥
Even as the event was winding down, the artist booths area was still super packed.
As we were leaving, I found this cute Maki cosplayer and asked for a selfie heheh. No waifu no laifu! And while we were waiting for our Uber outside, a pretty girl managed to find us haha * O * I was taken aback because she started walking towards us and even said hi. During that time all I could think about was, "did I really know such a pretty person????" Turns out that she was the Kusuriuri cosplayer we met back in Comic Fiesta 2013! I was so surprised that she still remembers us ; v ;
SO PRETTY...........SO COOL * u *
In the evening, we went to Jalan Alor again to have dinner. This time we had BBQ pork noodles and stir-fry vegetables at Wong Ah Wah, one of the restaurants along Jalan Alor that's highly recommended by a lot of Malaysian food bloggers. The food was so good! I'm glad I decided to check out food blogs beforehand. (I'm quite biased when it comes to Chinese food though—there's not a lot of Chinese food that I don't like, so if you're heading to KL soon and want to check out Jalan Alor, please just keep that in mind lol)
✧ Star Guardian Hanie ✧ As promised, here are the photos from our mini-shoot with Hanie! She cosplayed Lux from League of Legends, Star Guardian version! The costume and props were all made by her. So cool~ I have a lot of respect for people who create their costumes themselves, because I can't do any of that myself haha ; v ; One thing I liked a lot about Hanie's costume was the colors! These days my favorite thing to do with my photos is pushing the vibrance of the colors, and for these photos the effect looked really pretty! My photography skills are super rusty, so I'm glad that the photos turned out much better than I expected~ I hope you like them as much as I do ♥
