♫: Lim Kim - Awoo
Super comfy pink and black outfit from almost three months ago! (It's been so long since these photos were taken that I'd forgotten what we did that day!) I've already said this before, but one of the Japanese street fashion trends that I really like is the underwear-as-outerwear trend. I know this trend has long been around even before Tokyo's It girls picked it up, but the thing is I only started liking it when I discovered cult party kei. I've always seen photos of cult party girls wearing some sort of lingerie as outerwear, like corsets and negligee, and I became really enamored by them. These days I still see a lot of this trend, but I'm guessing that it's because of the influence that LARME has had this past year. Almost every LARME model I know owns at least one item made entirely out of lace. Lucky for me, lacy nightwear is easy to come by where I live (thank God for Divisoria and thrift stores!). But wearing lingerie as outerwear outside the house.. that's a different story. If you're like me and live in a country with a lot of not-so-open-minded people, then prepare to walk amidst judging eyes. Remember: walk with confidence. Cuteness gives you courage!
Aside from LARME, CUTiE has been one of my favorite magazines to look at for inspiration recently. In September 2014, CUTiE did a major overhaul* of their branding. I picked up a copy of their November 2014 issue while I was in KL, and I fell in love. The content of CUTiE is a lot more whimsical now than before. A lot more girly and a lot more playful, which is just my style. This month's issue had a lot of autumn coordinates, but this was what caught my eye immediately. I already knew most of these brands, so I was happy to see more brands that had a similar feel to them. I also liked that they had a lot of black, grey, and muted pink items -- colors that I don't mind wearing all year round, haha! My favorite coordinates would have to be the ones from Virginis and Honey Salon. Katie's and Candy Stripper's are really cute too, for a more laid-back look. I love Swankiss as a brand, but sometimes I can't imagine myself wearing their items because they can be too over-the-top cute, so I was glad to see how they put a more wearable outfit on the model. What about you, which one do you like? (*˘︶˘*)
* Sadly though, right before they released their September 2015 issue, they announced the suspension of the beloved magazine. I don't think they'll be discontinuing CUTiE entirely, since they only said they'd be "taking a break", but I'm not sure if they'll return with this version of the magazine either. We can only wish! (╯•﹏•╰)
I recently went out with my dad and brother to have dinner at a Korean BBQ place in Adriatico. I've never actually been to Adriatico before, so it was my first time seeing so many Japanese and Korean BBQ places in one place! It was a Friday, so there were so many people eating and drinking out on the street. While we were in the car I had fun trying to read all the neon signs (mostly stuff like やき肉 and うまい). We went to this place called Go!Kizip Korean Restaurant, and had samgyeopsal and two orders of woosamgyeop. Believe it or not, it was my very first time having samgyeopsal! I was always curious about it, since I always see it in dramas. I wasn't expecting to like it so much (I'm not really fond of Korean dishes..) but I did! I only had 4 out of the 10+ sides they brought out though, and I still wasn't brave enough to try the kimchi. I had my samgyeopsal with green onions, garlic, and sesame oil, wrapped in lettuce. It was sooo good! I really liked it. And it was cheap too, like P1000 for all of our orders. We were even given watermelon as dessert! My brother and I were so full that we didn't have space for ice cream anymore! The only ever time that happens when eating out is when we go to all-you-can-eat buffets, and usually that costs us around P600-800 per person. I'm planning to visit again soon, with Aian and friends this time! And maybe then I'll try tasting the kimchi. Maaaybe.
P.S. Sorry for the terrible photo quality! I did say in one of my previous posts that I'd try my best to take more photos and post more ~daily life things~ on the blog, which is why I've started bringing the G12 with me whenever I leave the house, but for some reason I completely forgot to take it out of my bag once we began eating......_(:3 」∠)_

It honestly feels like my whole look is becoming more feminine as time goes by, doesn't it? But believe it or not, I used to dislike pink when I was younger (gasp). I was a bit of a tomboy growing up, and apparently some schoolkids believed that liking pink and being a tomboy just didn't go together. (Why do some kids think like this, anyway??) I didn't want to be teased because of it, so whenever someone asked me what my favorite color was, I'd immediately say yellow (like the other girl Power Ranger that was NOT pink) or purple or some other color. This stuck with me for so long that even though I grew out of my tomboy phase I still didn't have a favorite-favorite - I just went with a color that felt like a favorite at the time. I think I only started liking pink by the time I turned twenty, when I discovered how pretty muted pinks can be, and eventually I came to love it. In fact, at present, about 60% of my personal belongings are pink, haha!
Aside from my love for the color pink, recently I've been accumulating a number of girly things. Velvet ribbons, lace dresses, dainty accessories.. The most recent addition to my growing collection is this lovely statement necklace from Happiness Boutique. I've always thought of statement necklaces to be too loud for my personal style, so I was quite surprised to find one that matched my taste quite well! The design is sooo cute. I'm in awe at how it manages to add extra sparkle to my look, in spite of its size. And true to the store's name, just wearing this necklace (or even just seeing it on my table!) boosts my mood instantly. I love it ♡
Hi everyone! I am back with another installment of Life Lately ♡ While I wish I could show you much better photodiaries, like the ones I used to make from 2013-2014, these days I've been taking less and less photos. Less with my phone, and even less with my cameras. I haven't been updating my Instagram as much either, which is a bit sad, but there's not much I can do. If you live in Manila, then you know that just getting around is an ordeal in itself. These days I only ever leave the house if it's for something important. To be honest, the only highlight of last month was a 日本語 group study session with Kawaii PH friends. (I also had St. Marc's parfait for the first time, heh.) Other than that, I mostly stayed at home to work on things. I do think I should still try and take photos more. But for now....

A while back I did a review of some Canmake products c/o Pretty-fab.com. One of the products I introduced was the Canmake Whip Mousse Lip*. I said I'd talk more about the product in detail in a separate entry, the reason being I wanted to do a comparison with another lip product, the Canmake Candy Wrap Lip*. I'll be talking about these two products today. (*˘︶˘*)
