Marks & Spencer bolero, thrifted top, skirt, sandals, and bag, ToFebruary 49 Days Teardrop Necklace
Was feeling extra girly yesterday, so I thought I'd bring out my favorite maxi skirt. As much as I love wearing edgy KERA and Zipper inspired outfits, nothing compares to the feeling of wearing fluffy pieces from head-to-toe ♡

Yesterday evening, a few friends from the studio and I went to LRI Design Plaza Makati to attend the little opening party for Valerie Chua's first solo exhbit, Backyard of the Universe. I've known Val for I think a couple or so years now, and meeting her was all thanks to a series that we were both into back then (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!). I've been a huge fan of her work ever since (even more now especially because a lot of her newer work is mori-inspired), so it's no surprise that I wanted to see the exhibit on the very night of its opening.
Everything in the exhibit was so, so beautiful. It's one thing to admire the paintings on the net, seeing them up close gives a whole different feeling! And the atmosphere at Heima only added to the whole experience. The "private viewing" eventually turned out to be a huge sosyal party inside Heima. I've never seen so many people in one little place before, so I mostly just stayed on the couch with Luisa. (Social recluses x 9999!) I did get to meet a couple of people I've been stalking online for some time now-- hello Aleyn and Allie! --and got to talk with a lot of talented people I knew, so it was nice. I'm so happy for Val because the opening was a huge success. (For the nth time, congratulations! * u *)
Backyard of the Universe will be open for viewing until January. For more details about the exhibit, visit QuietGirl.net ♡

Forever 21 jacket, Pack This! top, from BF Ruins shorts, from US flats, Wisdom glasses, Penshoppe cross necklace.
What I wore to my movie date with Aian. (We watched Puss in Boots! Super cute movie.) Lace on lace on lace! I've always wanted to wear an outfit that's head-to-to lace, so I tried it out with this outfit. This isn't it though, as I still wasn't able to dress up in lace from head to toe, so I'm planning on getting lace shorts and lace shoes (currently eyeing these pretty cream lace Litas from AsianVogue) to go with it. Hopefully I can come up with a complete lace outfit in the near future.I'm sure you noticed that I look reeeally different in these photos compared to all my other ones.. It's all because I changed the way I part my hair! Strange how something as little as that can make such a huge difference. The reason for the change is cos my bangs were pretty much becoming a pain, so I moved my part to the opposite side where my bangs are a bit shorter. Also, because I got two new piercings (an industrial!) while I was in Boracay, I have to keep my hair away from my ear as much as possible so it doesn't keep getting tangled in the earrings. Quite a hassle really, but at least that's one more thing off the bucket list. So now I have a total of seven piercings-- two on the left and five on the right. :)

Photos from our recent trip to Boracay. We spent four days and three nights at the Le Soleil de Boracay. I spent most of the time in the hotel watching TV while everyone was out enjoying the Boracay nightlife, because I'm not much of a party person, really. The only times I ever went out were when we went to eat lunch or dinner, when we went swimming in the afternoon (because I refused to go swimming when the sun was still glaring) and when we went around looking for souvenirs. Other than that, I mostly just stayed in and watched Halloween specials on TV. But I did have a lot of fun. I managed to buy a few of the local goods, got my hair put up in braids, splashed around in the sea, and finally got my ears industrial piercing done. Despite having to endure four days of no wifi in the hotel room and having sand all over the bed whenever I lied down, overall I really liked Boracay. Though I still prefer a much quieter environment; Boracay was a bit too crowded for my lola self. Maybe next time I could drag Aian along to a beach that's more isolated from people for a week of rest and relaxation. But knowing me, I'd probably jump into the water the first chance I get, lol.
