small sheet mask haul

I bought these sheet masks on a whim last weekend. I was sick, bedridden, and bored out of my wits. I didn't even have the energy to play Blade and Soul for more than 2 hours, so I pretty much did nothing but read manga, browse the Asian Beauty subreddit, and do some of online window shopping in between. That was when I realized that I had around P460 left in my Unionbank account. And because I still couldn't remember my ATM PIN, I decided the best solution would be to spend it on a shop that accepts Paypal/VISA payment LOL. And so I spent it. On sheet masks. Adulting done right, yes.

I got them from The Skincare Curator, aka my source for all my COSRX goods. They recently added sheet masks to their shop, although the selection was a bit limited. Plus the masks are marked up quite high—I got these for P100 each, versus $13.50 for a box of 10 at Sasa = ~P60 each. Which was why I hesitated before checking out. But as I didn't have enough to buy the toner that I'd been eyeing, I settled for these instead. (I have very low EQ, it seems.)

Even with the limited selection, there was still a lot to choose from. I wanted masks that had brightening properties, for my dark spots. I chose the ones that appeared to be the favorites from this thread: My Beauty Diary Imperial Bird's Nest Mask and Black Pearl Mask, and My Scheming Mandelic Acid Brightening Mask and L-Ascorbic Acid Whitening Mask. Both My Beauty Diary and My Scheming are brands from Taiwan.

I've only tried the Mandelic Acid one so far, it was pretty good, but I'll save the mini-reviews for later. I'm saving the others for special occasions, but I'll edit this post once I've tried all of them!

Bonus! I bought these yesterday while I was out, so I thought I'd include these here.

I'm almost out of my Bifesta Cleansing Lotion, so I bought a new bottle in advance. This is my fourth bottle of this stuff! I've tried all the variants except for Bright Up. But since I only use these as my first cleanser anyway (I follow up with a cleansing foam), I don't think the additional benefits really matter. I like that it takes off my makeup quickly (though waterproof makeup takes time to take off), and that with this I can take my makeup off while I'm watching anime or something. To be honest I was thinking of getting an oil cleanser instead, but I realized I still needed to buy this, because I am lazy and can't be bothered to oil cleanse 100% of the time.

The Etude House shadows are an impulse buy, but I don't regret getting them. I got Look at My Eyes in PK002 Help My Confession and Look at My Eyes Cafe in BR405 Cafe Latte Milk. I got PK002 because I remember seeing a Korean beauty Youtuber use it in a video and it was SO pretty, but I forgot who it was so I couldn't confirm. Turns out that the shadow I was looking for was actually from the Look at My Eyes Jewel line and not the regular line. Why are Etude shadows so confusing!! But still, this version is a very pretty shimmery pink, so I'm probably keeping it. As for BR405, I got it because I wanted a matte brown that I could use as an all-over shadow for natural makeup looks. I actually wanted to get BR401 Cafe Latte, which was one of their popular shades, but I thought BR405 would work well when I swatched it, so I got that instead.

And that's it! Recently I've been spending a lot less on clothes and more on beauty-related things. I just feel more satisfaction from buying new makeup or skincare. Signs of growing up, I guess? I'll do a post on my skincare routine soon. I'm still in the process of building my routine, but seeing Allie's skincare post made me want to do one, haha! Laura also posted about her makeup bag, which made me realize I haven't posted an updated version of mine, so I'll do that soon, too!
