Hey everyone, apologies for the long absence (yet again). There's an obvious pattern here—me coming back to update the blog after disappearing for months, and then suddenly, radio silence. Sorry! Earlier this year I had said that I wanted to get back into the habit of blogging regularly, but life has been a bit difficult. If you follow me on Instagram you might have already noticed that I haven't been posting much on there either, save for a few IG stories here and there. The reason is, well...let's just say I've just been feeling a little burnt out (—ᴗ—ᵕ)

I've heard a lot about mom burnout, but I wasn't expecting it to hit me this hard. Tbh, I think the burnout mainly comes from me not being able to have time for myself. Aian has been working almost nonstop with very little time for breaks, so I handle most of the Miu-related tasks. Which is fine, but ever since we entered the toddler stage I feel like every day has become A Challenge. Recently we have been dealing with Miu's 2nd molars—aka Teething Final Boss—and it has been SO EMOTIONALLY EXHAUSTING. Miu hasn't been eating solids so we've had to supplement with toddler formula (which is EXPENSIVE AF), plus she's been pooling saliva in her mouth. So on top of all the usual toddler things, we've had to be constantly on guard for drool waterfalls coming from this very active (!!!) baby's mouth. This has been going on for TWO MONTHS now............I'm so tired, you guys _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_
Anyway, I got so excited that I immediately downloaded a ton of books I'd been wanting to read. I was surprised at how easily I got back into reading, as I'd been in a massive reading slump for almost 2 whole decades (GASP). I guess I just needed to jump right back into it?? (But honestly though, was it even a reading slump if I never really stopped consuming manga and webtoons in between?)

I also bought myself some physical books, something I haven't done for myself in aaages. These are, from left to right—Convenience Store Woman, a book I loved SO MUCH that I had to get a physical copy; All the Lovers in the Night, a book I was reading as an e-book but eventually felt would be better read as a physical book; and lastly, Katabasis, a book on my TBR that I've been slowly working my way up to (planning to read this maybe in December or January next year).
For journaling, I've mentioned this before, but it actually takes me years to finish one notebook. Because my journaling style of choice is memory-keeping, around 70% of it is photos. And because I don't have a printer, what I do is compile all the photos and then have them printed in bulk once I get a good amount. Which is fine because my ADHD brain also likes jumping from one notebook to another. Like today I'll work on December 2019 backlog, and maybe another day I'll work on May 2022. It's far from ideal, but it's something I've made to work for me. I like it. Going through old memories and remembering how I felt in those moments...it makes me feel like I'm some sort of time traveler, heh 🕰️

But hey, that won't stop me from joining in the 2026 journal hype! Thanks to my enabler friends (you know who you are), I caved and bought a Hobonichi Weeks—my very first notebook from the brand! I'll be using it to log daily activities, and maybe media consumption as well? I want to keep using my Traveler's Notebooks for memory-keeping though, so we'll see how this goes!
That's all for now, I think. I can't promise to update regularly, but hopefully I won't take more than half a year to post the next one.
PS, please feel free to recommend any good books you've read recently! I'm always looking to expand my taste in literature ♡
