Hello everyone. I realized I hadn't posted anything for almost a week now. I intented to write a few days ago but because of health reasons, I wasn't able to. But I'm a bit better now, so I'll share with you a few photos from Southern Stories, an exhibit I attended at Heima Makati last Saturday, April 28th.
In collaboration with Heima, Charles Buenconsejo and Aleyn Comprendio's two-man show entitled, "Sea Sun and Sky" and "We’d Seen Each Other In A Dream", is an exhibit of analogue and film photography. The photographs revolve around their childhood, nostalgia, nature, honesty, and stories from the south. "Southern Stories" is the combined title of the two exhibits, much like a book with two sides with varying points of view. This exhibit also defines some of the themes of the current summer season for Heima.I've been a silent fan of Aleyn's for quite some time now, and finally got to talk to her about a year or so ago. I'm still very much a big fan of everything she produces. So even though the exhibit was on the same day as a Sketchy's event, I knew where I had to be that night. I wouldn't miss seeing Aleyn's work in person for anything!

"Sea Sun and Sky". Some photos by Charles Buenconsejo. His work made me feel very nostalgic. In particular, the one above caught my attention the moment I went inside Heima.

Aleyn's work. So pretty! When I hear the words soft and dainty, Aleyn's photos are the first thing that come to mind. My personal favorite from Aleyn's work is Love, 1936 -- a series she shot solely with an Instax Wide.

If you have time, go visit Heima at the 3rd floor of LRI Plaza, Bel Air II, Makati City! Southern Stories will be up and open to the public until the end of May :)

The first of February of this year was spent with two very talented people. Edric Chen is a photographer whose work I've been fond of ever since I first saw his photos of a friend, that was when I was still active on deviantART. And Luisa, I'm sure you know, is one of my closest friends. Edric had asked her to model for him a few weeks before, and she asked me to come with for a bit of moral support, and so I found myself watching the two of them work on a chilly afternoon. Edric behind the lens, Luisa in front of it. It's always an amazing learning experience, watching other people shoot.

Gifted top, thrifted vest and skirt, hand-me-down boots, Liz Lisa shoulder bag, gifted fox tail and hairband.
What I wore a couple of days ago, to a local cosplay event. I wanted to wear a more layered outfit, but the heat made it impossible. Good thing I had this cute floral lace vest to wear so my shoulders didn't feel so bare even though I decided not to bring a cardigan with me. To those who were looking for me that day, you might've missed me since I was too busy trying to look for open spaces to move. I seem to have ignored a few hellos that day as well, because I kept trying to move away from crowded areas. So so sorry!! ;; I'll try to go to the next one instead. :)

One of the highlights of last month was seeing Readymade Chinagirls, a joint exhibit that introduces two pairs of collaborations—Alice and Lucinda with Catalina Africa and Maria Jeona Zoleta—that are a generation apart. Jeona was actually a batchmate of mine from high school, and I was quite surprised at how far she's gone. I can still vividly remember that one day when I was watching her sitting on the floor of their classroom, painting figures on paper using instant coffee. I'm glad she's out there doing what she loves.
Overall a fun, fun day. Hanging out in an exhibit with friends on a rainy day = one of my favorite things ♥
