Last November 6th, I was at SM Southmall for the Tale of the Winter Forest event, where they officially unveiled the mall's gorgeous Christmas centerpiece, with a play production by Stages and a full performance of the Manila String Machine.

The Tale of the Winter Forest tells a story of two children getting lost in an enchanted forest. In the forest, they meet a wounded rabbit, a lost cardinal, and a hungry tiger. The children helped the animals, giving up their food and clothing for them. In return, the Winter Fairy appears and shows them the path home. 
It is a heart-wearming story of generosity, compassion, selflessness, and hope – definitely one very apt for celebrating the Christmas season, the season of giving. And in the spirit of the season, SM Southmall also invited friends from the SOS Children's Villages and Child Haus to the event, and gave them special gifts to enjoy.
Aside from the Christmas launch, SM Southmall has a lot of other holiday activities in store, such as a Santa Claus Meet & Greet, serenades with Christmas carols for shoppers, holiday sales (where shoppers can get a chance to win a brand new Chevrolet Traxx!), and pocket events such as the SM Cares Campaign Bears of Joy and the Lighted Tradition Parol-Making Contest. There's definitely something for everyone to look forward to this Christmas season.
