A Day of Glam & Beauty at Derma 360°

Last May 25th, I was invited to attend an event at Derma 360° Professional Dermatological Center. The event was to celebrate Derma 360°'s 9 years of commitment to providing expert and personalized dermatologic care to its valued patients. As many readers of this blog may know, I've become a bit of a skincare nut over the past year, so I was very excited to have been invited!

It's been years since my last derm visit, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Audrey Lee, the General Manager of Derma 360°, gave me a tour of the facilities. The clinic has two consultation rooms (which, Audrey tells me, have at least two of their in-house dermatologists available for consultation on any given day), and four treatment rooms – one for the FotonaDynamis SP, one for the Gentleyag Candela, one for facials, and one for RF and Contouring.

This is Treatment Room #1, for the FotonaDynamis SP, a powerful state-of-the-art laser that combines the technology of four unique modes and two complementary wavelengths to produce exceptional results in skin rejuvenation, tightening, lifting, and pigment lightening, among others. I've been hearing a lot about recent advances in laser therapy, but I didn't know it was this advanced! I was very intrigued, and so I asked a lot of questions. Audrey was very accommodating and answered all of them.

By the way, last year, Derma 360° gave its flagship Rockwell clinic a fresh contemporary look, so everything looks very sophisticated. Their shelves are lined with products that only their in-house dermatologists are allowed to recommend to their clients.

After the tour of the clinic, Joanne, one of the clinic's assistants, led me upstairs to have my Visia Skin Analysis done.

Using the skin analysis machine, Joanne took photos of my face, and then afterward she was able to see the condition of my skin! She then pointed out my current skin issues such as redness and UV damage, etc. It was found out that other than my acne scarring, a bigger issue was the extent of UV damage on my skin 😱 I was pretty shocked to see it on screen!

Up close. (I tried my best to crop this lol) The left side is my face (with makeup lol) and the right side shows the extent of UV damage. The parts that are dark have more damage. I only started using sunscreen last year, so it was to be expected. But if you look closely, you'll see that my chin and neck are way different from my face. That's because sometimes I haven't been applying sunscreen and instead just wear a hat.... kapag bibili lang naman ako ng kwek-kwek sa tabi, ganon. Turns out just wearing a hat isn't enough because the UV rays that bounce off the ground do a lot of damage as well. Now I know. Sunscreen anytime I go out! No excuses!!

After the skin analysis, I was asked if I wanted to have my makeup done. Makeup artists from Maquillage Professionel School of Make Up Artistry did free makeovers for guests at the event.

There were also cute snacks from Niji Desserts at the event.

After the activities, I still had some time before going back to Powerplant to meet Aian, so I asked if I could have my facial done that day. I thought it would be best to do it then since I don't know when I can leave the catcave house again.

And so, I had my facial done. Facials are done in Treatment Room #3. I was told that I would be getting a Premium Facial. Also called the MicroOxyBlue facial, this signature facial treatment of Derma 360° uses three special procedures rolled into one.

Pre-facial selfie! I only took selfies during the treatment for ~documentation~, so please excuse my huge face lol

The clinic assistant assigned to me, Cristy, started off with a basic facial cleaning to remove oil and impurities (and makeup)

Cleansed face! I love that Cristy left my eye, brow, and lip makeup all intact lol

After cleansing is microdermabrasion, to exfoliate dead and dull skin cells. I've never had a Diamond Peel done before, so I was expecting it to be a bit painful, but it wasn't at all! After this came the Oxyjet facial, delivering continuous streams of rejuvenating oxygen and physiologic water to nourish and moisturize the skin cells. (Because it was literally a jet of oxygen and water spraying at my face, my eyes had to be covered, so I wasn't able to take photos of that part.)

This was then followed by a serum that was applied all over my face. I think it was this one!

Then, a mask was applied. The mask was very soothing and cooling on the face that I fell asleep for a bit at this part.

The facial was then capped by Theralight(LED) exposure, for skin rejuvenation or acne treatment. And then we were done!

Post-facial selfie! No beautification app on this one—my skin really did look and feel so smooth afterward. My skin also looked like it was glowing!! I was so amazed. If this was the immediate result after one session, then I'm sure the effect would be a lot more evident after continuous sessions. Thank you so much to Cristy for doing a great job!

Also, thank you to Audrey for being such a good host. I'll be sure to drop by again if ever I'm in Rockwell and in need of a facial!
