We found a new spot to hang out near Aian's place! It's Mr. Park's Bread & Cake, a small bakery and cafe in BFRV. I've heard about Mr. Park's from my friends who like cute cafes before, but I never got to visit one until now. This branch seems smaller than the ones I've seen in pictures online, but it's nice and quiet, which I really like. So far we've tried their Chocomint frappe, egg tarts, and their Chocoholic bingsu. I really liked the first two, but the bingsu was just so-so. The Chocomint Frappe was our favorite! It's a great alternative to Starbucks' Peppermint Mocha, which we only ever get during Christmas season. I also liked the egg tarts, but I've become way too used to the taste of Lord Stow's so I keep comparing all the egg tarts I've tasted to theirs. They were still good, but not as good as Lord Stow's. As for the bingsu, it was way too sweet for me, and honestly it was just a bunch of chocolate-flavored cereals and snacks put on top of chocolate ice cream and bananas. The ice was melted halfway when it got to us too, so it looked like chocolate soup after a few minutes. I think next time we're better off trying the Red Bean or Fruits bingsu, since I feel those won't be too sweet. Overly sweet bingsu aside, I feel like their other offerings such as their breads and savory dishes might be good too – I'll give those a try next time. Service is great too, plus they always have K-POP songs playing, so it's a really feel-good place.

UPDATE (08/30/16)
We've been here at least two more times after I posted this entry, so I thought I'd write a little update. Their cream puffs are REALLY GOOD. (Big thanks to Luie and Den for recommending them!) I also liked their danish pastry, but that's probably because I'm really fond of pastries in general. Aian seemed to like their cinnamon roll as well. A friend on Twitter also mentioned that their jams were good, but I haven't tried them yet. As for drinks, I still have not tried any drinks other than the chocomint frappe.. because chocomint hehe. If I ever do, then I'll maybe update this again ;)

Mr. Park's is right along BF Resort Drive – it's on the right side if you're coming from the main gate, just before you reach the intersection between BF Resort Drive and Gloria Diaz Street. It's nearby Cerealicious Cafe, which is a Pokestop, by the way! It shouldn't be hard to find, especially since their lights are usually so bright during the evenings. They're open almost 24 hours (almost, because they close at some point to clean up, I forgot what time), so it's perfect for us night owls. If you're from BFRV and have an intense love for bread like myself, I definitely recommend checking this place out ♡

Since I talked about how Ciara and I tried the purikura booth at Kidzoona at Robinsons Galleria last time, I thought I'd share our photos today! It's been years since I last had a purikura session; I'd forgotten how fun it really is! * u *

If you're wondering how we got copies of our photos, you can check out Ciara's post on how to download them via the Puripix app here! You can actually only choose two shots per session (one per person, and you can choose different ones), but thanks to our friend Sachi, we were able to get all of them! (Thank you + love you *kissyface emoji*)

* Kidzoona is located in Robinsons Galleria and Fairview Terraces. You can find more info on these purikura booths (again, on Ciara's blog) here!

Since my previous post was a review, today I thought I'd share something personal – a list of my current favorite things ♥

Firstly, these purikura photos with Ciara! I've been wanting to try the new purikura machines in Kidzoona ever since she posted about them on her blog, but Fairview Terraces is sooo far away from where I live ;____; Fortunately, they moved one of the machines to the Kidzoona branch in Robinsons Galleria, so it became slightly more accessible for me! Last Sunday we got to try it out, and aren't we so cute? Our outfits are similar too, even though we didn't plan or anything! Hopefully next time I can take purikura photos with everyone else as well~ (❁´▽`❁) ♥

New LARME issues! Well, not really – LARME 003 and 004. I traded some of my KERA magazines for LARME magazines with my friend Nona. See, the KonMari method of tidying up is all about letting go of things that don't "spark joy", so I let go of a lot of Japanese magazines that no longer do that for me, mostly KERA and Zipper magazines. I didn't sell everything, just the ones that didn't "spark joy". I sold most of my collection, and kept the ones I really liked. It's funny because I didn't even feel regretful while packing them and sending them off. In fact, I'm much happier with my much-needed shelf space and my (not-so) new LARME issues. I'll probably continue doing this until I'm left with just the ones that I really love.

Last time I talked about getting Banila Co's Clean It Zero* as a first-step cleanser for my double cleansing routine, and I love it. I looove it. It has its downsides, like not being able to take off super-waterproof makeup completely, but still very efficient. I've also gotten into doing oil cleansing massages once a week, so I've been enjoying this product a lot.

I've been loving these two lip products lately. First is the Canmake Stay-on Balm Rouge in 09 Masquerade Bud*. I've had this product in my Canmake wishlist for some time now, and I finally got to try it! It's a tinted balm, which means I can do my usual lip tint + lip balm routine with just this one product. The color is a translucent deep red – it goes well with my personal style heheh ♥ Second is the L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Matte in V109 Jardin Pamplemousse. Because it's a matte lip product, I have a hard time getting it to look nice on days when my lips are super dry, but the gorgeous pink color makes up for it. I also like to use the two together – a full lip with the Stay-on Balm Rouge first, then L'Extraordinaire Matte in the center, blend out, and lastly, blur the edges of my lips. The result is a really nice pink to red gradient that I quite like!

Even though summer's long over in Manila, I've been listening to a lot of summer KPOP releases. Suran's DDANG, featuring Hwasa, is my jam. It's super catchy – my favorite to dance to in the shower! Suran most recent release, Paradise Go, has been in constant repeat as well. f(x) also recently released a new digital single under SM Station, All Mine, which I've been listening to a lot when working on blog posts. I've also come to like Eric Nam's Can't Help Myself, featuring Loco. The song is so fun, plus the lyrics were written by Tablo, whom I respect so much. Kisum's MUSIK and Heize's And July mini-albums are also always on my playlist these days. Out of all the previous UPRS contestants, Kisum and Heize are my favorites in terms of personal style and overall sound, so I was really happy when they came out with minis almost at the same time.

As for anime, I usually keep up with the recent releases of every season, but this year's Spring/Summer anime didn't really appeal to me, so I've been looking for interesting series to watch. These are my favorite ones – Space Patrol Luluco, Katanagatari, and Gatchaman Crowds! I really like anime with well-written stories, good animation, and unique art styles, and these series were all of those things combined. I won't tell you any more about them, just that you should definitely give them a look-see! (If you've already seen Kill La Kill, you'll definitely love the first one!)

I've been looking at Kaila's Taiwan photodiary everyday for the past couple of weeks now. As I mentioned tons of times before, Jiufen is one of my ~*ultimate*~ dream travel destinations, so I was looking forward to this post from Kaila ever since I found out that she went there. All the photos are so beautiful, and they were all taken with a film camera!

I also really liked Ashley's Kyoto photodiary a lot. Kyoto through Ashley's eyes is so beautiful! Seeing all these pretty photodiaries by friends made me miss my old blogging ways, so I hope to create more photodiaries in the future.

Photos from last Sunday, taken with the new Instagram Stories function aka Snapstagram. Here's a breakdown, in bullets:

  • Aian and I were in Megamall for a local con, and spent most of the day with friends.
  • Aian went to play at the arcades, while I went to meet up with Ciara.
  • Ciara and I went to the con to watch Ririn perform on stage with Moonspeak.
  • We walked around the con for a bit and I met Mika (of Heroine Complex) and Leny and Nechi (whom I haven't seen in ages).
  • Afterwards, we (Aian, Ciara, Allysa who arrived in the afternoon, and myself) went to have parfait at St. Marc's Cafe
  • Ciara and I then went to check out the purikura booth at Robinsons Galleria.
  • After our purikura session, we went back to Megamall to meet up with Aian and Allysa, and then Ciara went home.
  • The rest of us had dinner at Yabu, and then went home as well.

...and that was my Sunday. There was A LOT of walking involved, but I didn't catch any Pokemon at all, sadly!

A lot of people wanted to see more of my "old stuff"—photos of places I visit, or just random everyday things. Unfortunately, because I've been having trouble with charging my dSLR battery for a long time now (plus because the Canon 5D is hella heavy), I can't bring it around as much as I used to. The good news is, with the new Stories function, I'm now able to share more day to day snaps with everyone using my phone. The only problem is that Instagram Stories hasn't reached the iPhone 5S yet, so I still have to use Aian's phone for it. (This explains the lack of variety in emojis used – I'm sorry.) I'm sure the update will come soon, but in the meantime, please follow my Instagram for more snaps – @_chainyan
