Kawaii in Manila 2 Dress Code FAQ + what to wear

August 24, 2014 No comments

Less than two weeks to Kawaii in Manila 2~! I'm way too excited that I still haven't prepared an outfit for it! How about you? For those still not sure what to wear / what not to wear for the event, here's a simple Q&A by Kawaii PH! (๑>ᴗ<๑)

Q: What is/are the dress code/s for Kawaii in Manila 2?
A: Three C's: Casual (at the least), comfortable, cute. In accordance with our goal to spread kawaii all around, we encourage attendees to wear something that will express their love for (the) kawaii (lifestyle). We also advice everyone to wear something you feel comfortable and confident in! (。・ω・。)

Q: Is cosplay allowed?
A: As cosplay is also a part of the kawaii culture, yes it is allowed. However, we want to make it clear that Kawaii in Manila 2 is NOT a cosplay convention, which means unlike other conventions, it does not only focus on cosplay as one part of the culture. We also want to emphasize that there won't be any cosplay competitions/activities on the event program. Cosplayers are also advised to wear something comfortable, while also keeping in mind the theme of the event, which is "kawaii". (*^ω^)人(^ω^*)

Q: I'm new to the kawaii culture and I don't think I have a "kawaii" outfit. Can I still come?
A: Yes, of course! We're sure you'll learn a lot about the kawaii fashion on the event~ You might even get an idea of what kawaii fashion style will suit you best! (*^ワ^*) In the mean time, just dress up with what makes you happy and comfortable! ∩( >ω< )∩

You can read the full FAQ post on Kawaii.PH! If you're still not sure what to wear, Ashley of Candy Kawaii Lover has also posted a guide for you here: click! I also did a bit of looking at magazine scans and chose looks that you might like (人゚∀゚*)

For a simple yet kawaii look, try a Natural / Feminine style like Aoyagi Fumiko ♥

For me, the Pastel trend never goes out of style + very kawaii!

The Marine look is always cute!

Or you can try a more chic, sophisticated look~

And if you're not into wearing very feminine styles, try a Sporty / Boyish look!

Of course, the more ~out there~ styles (Harajuku-kei) are ok, too! Choose from super sweet to more edgy rock!

Couple style is also very cute! I'll be on the lookout for fashionable couples, too ^^

As for me, my style of choice is Monochrome.. but I bet you already knew that!
The black and white + one color look is my fave ♥

For more inspiration, I suggest looking at these magazines: Zipper, CUTiE, ViVi, LARME for cute and casual looks, and FRUiTS, Gothic&Lolita Bible, KERA for something more adventurous. You can also check out the outfits / aomoji-kei tags on this blog for more outfit ideas, ehe. I'm very excited to see what you'll come up with! See you all soon~!! (=´∀`)人(´∀`=)☆
